Ankore - Independence Day!

July 3rd, 2007...

Sam's friend's from SD came up for the night to visit her and to also see Ankore perform at the Troubadour in W. Hollywood. Dana, Alfredo and Harold all came up..and it was cool meeting them cuz they were cool peeps! Actually i've met Dana and Harold before so it wasn't the first time I met them. So the night was fun...before Ankore came up to perform, they were some other band's that performed..and the only one I remember..was this band that was really dramatic with all this posing and stuff. It was just too much for me! Trying too hard... Another funny thing was Alfredo made friends with some random guy who had an iphone and he wanted to dance with us the rest of the night! haha

Ankore was dope..they were a dope band, they put together a really good set..and they freakin made it rain! how cool is that! hahaha

After the show, we went next door to Myron's club for an hour or so...and that was cool we danced a lil..got more drinks. The fun really started after the club...as we exited we ran into many bald filipino guys in wifebeaters with tats showing! Scary right? haha ..so the next thing you know..there was this big fight..and people out on the streets, some queens from whore island trying to hold back their friends, were falling in the street. And then you have Sam say "i wanna see someone get stabbed" haha..so wrong! Good thing the cops came and broke it all up as they were all over Santa Monica blvd fighting trying to get on youtube..

July 4th

The Duenas's had a fam bam party with simple delicious food that I had to have extra servings of everything. The SD people spent the night at Sam's and we ended up playing Wii for most of the day. For some reason I totally sucked at baseball..and we had bets going each game. Trying to hit homeruns in various positions, like using just ur wrist, covering one eye, etc etc. Needless to say I lost the first 4 games..and I had to take 4 shots of tequila in about 10 minutes! Oh who can forget that Sam made some really good Sangria for the very first time! I think after a few days it gets better and better..as the strawberries and apples she put in really added to the flavor of it over time.

We were able to watch the fireworks from Sam's street..pulled up chairs and everything and saw a really good fireworks show, that I think happened at the local highschool. That beats going to some crowded place and paying for everything!!! cheap is the way to go!!

WiiShag

So on June 29th I picked up my Nintendo Wii courtesty of Kiis Fm!!!!!!!!

Let me tell you the Wii is like the sickest game system out there right now. Its a very family friendly system. As hyped as the Xbox360 and the Ps3 were...I think the Wii is the darling of the Game World right now. It came out last November I believe and to this day, it is really hard to find them on the shelves of any store! Thankfully I won mine on the radio and got it for FREE!!!! MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

So that night I brought it over to brown cow's house to share in the enjoyment of the Wii! We set it up and it was like instant FUN! At first it was Mr. D, Sam and I playing and seeing how it was. Mrs. D didn't want to play she just wanted to watch. Seriously we coulda played all night but we had Julia Gulia's going away party at Shag to attend!

Shag was fun a different crowd than I normally get to see, I saw some old faces..especially my friend's ex gf that i seriously havent seen in like 5+ years or something like that. So it was good to see her. The overall night was fun..I got Casey wasted, he had his customary 2 long island's but I made him take a few shots on top of that..and he was DUNZO! Oh and then...the loml and i got into it that night in an epic meeting of the minds! First in the club..then in the car...fun stuff!

Then after all that was said and done..it was wii time till 5am!!! haha

I Don't Know...Disneeelund

Firsts..

The first time experiencing something new is usually always fun..just this past week or so I had many firsts..so lets give it the rundown!!!

  • Soup Plantation in Marina - Had this for lunch on Sunday w/ loml and Mrs. D. It was actually pretty good, im usually not a fan of salad bars n stuff like that. But since im on my healthy tip this was good. Although the chicken noodle soup, chicken noodle soup, chicken noodle soup..was kinda puzzling to me. The noodles were like fatter than fat, and they give you the tiniest soup bowl to eat it in. So it was like the broth and 2 noodles in my bowl.
  • I saw Knocked Up for the first time, and usually movie's wouldnt be considered amongst "firsts" but I will include it here, because I plan on seeing it again and again! This was seriously the best movie I have seen in a really long time. It was hilarious, it was almost like a life's lesson to of what to expect when any of us have children too. It wasn't all cheesy love story/comedy. It was really real. Oh and I saw it at the Bridge!! Thats another first!!
  • So Sam has raved about Tito's taco's for quite some time, and myself being part mexican from all the mexican food I eat thanks to the delish taco trucks in eagle rock. I had to try. The line for that place was seriously ridiculous as its like a Culver City landmark! People were all over the place ordering ton's of food! I had a taco and a burrito. The menu is pretty simple theres like 5 things on it and the food is really cheap!!! The taco I would say was my favorite and I think I will stick w/ that. The burrito I had was good too, but its hard to compare to Leo's taco truck burrito, just cuz there is so much flavor in Leo's burrito. So I give Tito's taco's a thumbs up! Another dope thing is that they give you chips n salsa w/ every order!
  • Last night we had Diddy Reese in Westwood and that was awesome! Seriously who sells really good cookies for 35 cents and a cookie sandwich for 1.25! what a freaking steal..we got like 3 cookies and my ice cream sandwich for 2.25! But!!! watch out for those sugar cookies as it is known to make people grumpy and make them want to poop!!!!

Hollywood Soap Opera

The hollywood soap opera that is my beloved lakers and kobe bean bryant! I am one of the biggest kobe fan's and supporters out there everyone knows it...but enough is enough. I'm seriously sick and tired of all this news about kobe wanting to be traded, to wanting things to workout, to reiterating to jerry buss that he does want to be traded.

Lets see how I can really begin this novel of drama and he said she said. Kobe Bryant is probably one of the greatest basketball players to every play the game today. He is Los Angeles's version of Michael Jordan. We've seen him come from Lower Merion HS in Pennsylvania all the way to the Lakers in the summer of 96. That summer as well we were blessed w/ the greatest coup in free agency as Jerry West was able to steal away Shaquille O'Neal from Orlando. It was a match made in heaven. We had the inside presence to take us back to our glory years of the 80's and we had the young hotshot guard who had worlds of potential. Their first season together saw our playoff hopes fall in Utah w/ the consecutive air balls of the then fresh outta high school Kobe. It was a learning experience that groomed him for future success.

Kobe began to blossom, living up to his potential but yet..couldn't fully show us everything he had as we had the most dominant big man in the game. In Phil Jackson's first season as coach, our dreams came true and we won our first of 3 consecutive championships!!!!!

As we continued to win, Kobe's drive, work ethic and passion for the game never faltered as Shaq became more and more lazy and fatter and wanting the huge payday from Jerry Buss that he thought he deserved.

3 summer's ago as the Lakers fell to the Detroit Pistons, many questions arised as to Kobe Bryant's free agency...Shaq demanding to be traded and if Phil Jackson would come back to coach. Only Kobe Bryant was retained that summer, as Shaq was traded away and Phil took a year off.

Which pretty much brings us to today. 2 years have passed since this has become Kobe Bryant's Lakers. 2 scoring titles no playoff victories as far as series wins. Over recent weeks, Kobe has voiced his displeasure w/ the Laker's organization. He has demanded to be traded, he has demanded improvements in the team. He has said that the Laker's have painted him as the scapegoat as to why Shaq left the team.

I fault the organization as a whole for not being able to put a championship team out there, for the City of Los Angeles to watch, and cheer for. They have the most expensive tickets in the NBA and the prices go up yearly! Trading Caron Butler for Kwame Brown was prolly the dumbest move Laker's GM Mitch Kupchak has ever made. Butler became an all star for the first time last year, as Kwame Brown has never lived up to being the #1 overall draft pick. Some consider him the biggest bust of all time at the #1 overall pick. I fault that as he doesn't have big hands. He's 7ft 270..athletically gifted..but god forgot to give him bigger hands, he just cant seem to keep his hands on the ball. It's like when they pass it into the post to him, its got butter all over it! Sorry I just went on a little rant..i'll keep going with what I was going to say. So Caron Butler is traded away, who was Kobe's best friend on the team. The Lakers decide to ask Kobe what he thinks of the deal, AFTER he is traded. What is the point in that? Who does that!?!?!? Why ask for an opinion if you already went out and did what you wanted? In this day and age..you ask your superstar player what he thinks of potential deals, free agents..etc.

Baron Davis, Ron Artest, Carlos Boozer all wanted to be Laker's...I even forgot one guy, Jason Kidd! Yet we couldn't get the deal done on any of them... The Western Conference is extremely talented, and we continue to stand pat and let the best player in the game waste away the prime of his career.

In the past couple of weeks...Kobe has gone to various media outlets and voiced his frustration about the organization and how they are not building a winner. He uttered words out of his mouth I thought I would never hear. He wanted to be traded!! News of this overshadowed every story on every sports network, every sports talk radio show was on it. It was officially "Kobe watch". You could hear so many interviews of him saying he wanted to be traded, and there was nothing the Laker's could do to fix it. To 30 min later on another show you can hear him saying he wanted to be a Laker for life, and then 5 hours later him reiterate he wanted to be shipped somewhere else!!!!

The Laker's have said Kobe is not going anywhere, and Kobe is sticking to his guns that he would like to go.

Now my rant....

Im sick and tired of all of this. I am a Laker fan #1 before I am a Kobe Bryant fan. I think it is time to part ways with him. He has gone about this completely the wrong way. He continues to go to the media and bash the Lakers and what they haven't done. What team really wants him right now? I don't believe this is all Kobe's fault, everyone has a hand in it from Jerry Buss, Mitch, to Shaq. He only wants to go to a championship contending team, and really do those teams basically want to gut their team for him? Do they think they can handle his ego? He's hurting himself by going about this all the wrong way. I understand that first time he went on the air and declared he was unhappy. It should've stopped there, the Laker's would have heard that interview like everyone else and listened to what he wanted. Repeatedly going to the media just made him look even worse. That he "couldnt be overshadowed by Lebron being in the Finals" and its all about him. He worked so hard to repair his reputation after Colorado, and now he's brought it back to "selfish, me me me" This makes me ask does he really have any friends? Like seriously..who lets their friend completely destroy themselves like this. Also why would his agent or publicist let him continue to do this as well..this is their client, and im afraid all they do is say "yes" to him. Yes..your right...yes you should say that..yes...yes yes yes!!!!!

Laker fans have stood by Kobe Bryant from day one..he was always loved more than Shaq, and even regardless of him cheating on his wife in Colorado and being accused of rape. We stood by him. In the same year was his impending Free Agency, we were held hostage as to what he was going to do. Was he going to be a Clipper or a Bull? No matter how loyal we have been to him, it doesn't seem as it is enough. He wants to play elsewhere..I say honor his wish, and its time for us to part ways. We can build a winner back up again, we always have. I cant take anymore of this drama.

Last week was a come up!!!

Neglect...I know I know I have neglected thee..its been a crazy week with lots goin on, and today is extremely slow at work!

So thanks to the lovely people at Cingular for losing the case that was brought on by some Consumer thing a ma jig, for not enough notice on Early Termination Fee's (ETF) back in the day. I believe it was like 2000-2002. So anyone hit w/the ETF during that time period wasn't given proper notice, and now is being repaid for that!! I got my check for $143.40 this week WOO WOO!!! Nothing like comin up on some money you never expected!

I was also a lucky winner on KIIS FM for a Nintendo Wii!!! I was totally at the Long Beach Towne Center when Kiis spotted me! I chose lucky # 7 and picked up a Wii!!! Woo Woo I can't wait to play and destroy all my opposition!!

Then I came up on some cr8tiverec's! for free son! They are pretty sick..kinda like vans but better, the only thing is cr8tiverec's seem to size their shoes pretty small, cuz im a 10.5-11 and they are really tight on my feets! and i refuse to not wear socks w/ em..thats just stank gross right?

I also came up on a new phone from Magic, that was pretty dope!!

So all in all a serious come up for me!!!
